A new faster way connects Selayar now with South Sulawesi. Daily, there is a fast ferry Benteng, Selayar to Bulukumba at 08:00 and returns from Bulukumba at 15:00, sailing time ca. 50 min. Makassar to Bulukumba ca. 3 hours by car.
